They’re making you look guilty

 

I’ve been watching “Making a Murderer” on Netflix this week…

It’s a documentary that follows the story of Steven Avery, a man from Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, who served 18 years in prison for the wrongful conviction of sexual assault and attempted murder…

He was again charged in 2005 and convicted in 2007 for the murder of Teresa Halbach and many people believe this to be a wrong conviction too…

I love shows like this that allow you to see how each legal team construct their arguments for trial and ‘Making a Murderer’ up there with the best…

Anyway…

Murder trials are just like selling and marketing your Recruitment or Search services!

It’s the defendant (you and your business) VS the prosecutor (your competitors, rejection, price resistance, and every other hurdle that could stop you from making the sale)

And you’re both trying to convince the jury (your clients), that your version of the truth is the one they should believe…

There’s no right or wrong, just a winner and a loser…

Because just like in Steven Avery’s case, the only person that knows the truth for sure is you…

But the truth doesn’t matter… the only thing that counts is your ability to convince the jury of your version of events…

And the version of events the jury are most likely to believe is simply the one with the most convincing evidence…

Think about this…

You tell the Jury your services are the best in the market… The prosecutor (your competitors) say there’s is the best…

You tell the Jury they’re getting good value for money… The prosecutor tells them you’re too expensive…

You tell the Jury they should act now if they want the best candidate… The prosecutor tells them they should delay their decision.

You tell the Jury they should pay you a retainer or use you exclusively… The prosecutor tells them they shouldn’t buy at all…

There’s no right or wrong, just a winner also a loser…

And the winner is the one with the best evidence!

And that’s where your marketing comes in.

The Recruiter with the best marketing generates the most qualified leads, wins the best clients and gets to charge the prices they want without any complaints…
